Manjusri


Manjusri is the buddhisattva of wisdom or prajna. Wisdom is the sixth transcendental perfection or prjnaparamita, "transcendental perfection of wisdom." The other five transcendental perfections are: transcendental perfection of charity (dana), discipline (sila), tolerance (kshanti), perseverance (virya) and meditation (dhyana). He is in yellow color holding wisdom sword (khadga) by his right hand that cuts through ignorance (avidya). In the left hand, he holds a stem of lotus flower (utpala)on which is placed a text of prajnaparamita.
His popular chant (mantra): OM A RA PA CA NA DHI!
